Indian Railways to run special Navratri trains to Vaishno Devi shrine; details here

The Indian Railways will run special trains for devotees visiting the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in Jammu and Kashmir this festive season.

in September, the News 18 quoted a Railways report as saying.

Elaborating further on the development, passengers will also be provided accommodation, food, and travel in a special tour package, designed by the national transporter, according to the sources.

The holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi sees a huge rush of devotees during the Navratri festivities. It becomes really difficult to get railways or even bus tickets to travel to these holy sites during the festive season.

As far as the duration of the package is concerned, it would be a 5 days and 4 nights tour. It will have two trips included in the package: first one would be from September 25 to September 29 and second from September 30 to October 4.

Passengers can board and deboard these trains at New Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station. Tickets are available now for these trains and they will be given on a first come-first served basis, according to Indian Railways’ officials.

When is Sharad Navratri 2022?

Sharad Navratri or Shardiya Navratri will begin on September 26, Monday and end with Vijaya Dasami celebration on October 04, Tuesday.

Sharad Navratri is celebrated with great zeal and grandeur across India. Navratri stands for nine nights, which is the symbolic celebration of victory of good over evil. During this period. goddess Durga is worshipped across India. Durga Puja is one of the main festivals in Northern and Eastern India. It is believed that Mother Durga blesses her devotees with power, wisdom and energy during these nine days. Thus, people visit famous temples of Durga across India to seek her blessings.
